Two new prin­ci­pals ap­proved by board

The Bas­trop school board has ap­proved the ap­point­ment of new prin­ci­pals for Ge­n­e­sis High School and Gate­way School. The board ap­proved Bas­trop High School Prin­ci­pal Martin Con­rardy as the new prin­ci­pal for Ge­n­e­sis High School. Con­rardy has worked for 21 years as a teacher, co­or­di­na­tor, in­struc­tional spe­cial­ist and as­sis­tant and as­so­ciate prin­ci­pal. The board named Pa­tri­cia Al­ford, prin­ci­pal of the Tay­lor school district’s Op­por­tu­nity Cen­ter, as prin­ci­pal of the Gate­way School. Be­fore serv­ing as an ed­u­ca­tor for the last 14 years, Al­ford worked for Travis County as an ed­u­ca­tional in­struc­tor for adults and youth con­victed of a crime, a de­ten­tion su­per­vi­sor and a ju­ve­nile pro­ba­tion of­fi­cer.
