Cable TV to cover Texas Legislature

Austin American-Statesman - - BUSINESS -

Politics-obsessed Time Warner Cable subscribers will soon have access to gavel-togavel coverage of the Texas Legislature.

The area’s largest cable provider will roll out channels dedicated to the Texas House and Senate starting Dec. 14.

The House will be featured on Channel 383; the Senate on Channel 384.

“While we are not obligated to carry this programming, we believe our Austin customers are interested and will appreciate having it available to watch on television during the session,” said Time Warner Cable spokesman Jon Gary Herrera.

The two channels will be available to customers with the Digital Basic package or higher who live in the city of Austin, the company said. A converter box is needed.
