“It’s an im­por­tant re­la­tion­ship. It’s im­por­tant to man­age the game and call the game (so) that you know the game is be­ing played the way that as a coach, you see it go­ing and vice versa.”

Gary Ku­biak, who played quar­ter­back in the NFL for nine years, ad­mits he is harder on that po­si­tion than any other. He knows what he wants and when he doesn’t get it, he can be un­for­giv­ing.

Matt Schaub has felt that wrath many times, but the two have devel­oped a part­ner­ship that is pro­duc­ing at as high a level as any coach-QB in the league.

It took some time for them to get there, but Schaub and Ku­biak are rolling, as the Tex­ans have won 15 of Schaub’s last 16 starts.
