Austin American-Statesman - - AUSTIN360 DAILY -

Nashville-based shoe company Nisolo will come to Austin for a Thursday trunk show to acquaint Austinites with the socially conscious brand.

Nisolo shoes, which range from $50 to $160, are made by Peruvian artisan shoemakers. The company’s three founders, including Nick Meyer of Austin, launched the social enterprise in 2011 after working with impoverished women in Peru. They noticed the high quality footwear being handcrafted by skilled shoemakers who had a limited customer base.

Now Nisolo shoes are sold online at and in 23 stores across the U.S. including C. Jane and Creatures Boutique in Austin.

Nisolo shoes and accessories will be available for purchase at the trunk show at 3607 Dali Lane from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

The Bolivar wedge sells for $138.
