Texas has won 19 of its last 20 matches

Austin American-Statesman - - C SPORTS - Friday/saturday, Gregory Gym no. 1 Penn state: no. 2 stanford: no. 3 texas: no. 5 Washington:

Texas was last year’s top-seeded team in the NCAA tournament, but fell to UCLA in the regional finals.

“Our team went right back to work after last season’s disappointment and earned the right to be in this regional in front of the home crowd,” Elliott said. “The bulk of our focus has been on our side of the ball. As coaches, we have to get the team in a relaxed frame of mind by not over-thinking, not changing things and getting to a point where we can be good at our routines and play smart volleyball.”

Texas has won 19 of its last 20 matches since switching to a 5-1 offense in mid-September.

In two postseason matches, Texas’ Bailey Webster — last year’s Big 12 player of the year — has racked up 32 kills (for an average of 4.57 kills per set) while hitting .583.
