Linklater, Green headed to Sundance
“Before Midnight,” the latest feature from Austin director Richard Linklater, will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Also selected for the premieres section of the festival was David Gordon Green’s “Prince Avalanche.” Linklater’s “Before Midnight” follows the lives of Jesse and Celine in Greece, nearly two decades after first meeting on a train bound for Vienna in “Before Sunrise.” Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy reprise their earlier roles. Green, who lives in Austin, directs Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch in “Prince Avalanche,” which follows two guys who spend the summer of 1988 away from the city where they live. Kat Candler’s “Black Metal” was selected for the shorts program.
