Christ­mas con­cert to ben­e­fit chil­dren

The Bas­trop Pres­by­te­rian Fel­low­ship is host­ing a free Christ­mas con­cert at 7 p.m. Sun­day in the Bas­trop Opera House, 711 Spring St.

The con­cert will fea­ture the Gra­ceNotes Vo­cal En­sem­ble and the Pro Mu­sica hand bell choir of the Cove­nent Pres­by­te­rian Church in Austin, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease.

Do­na­tions will be ac­cepted at the con­cert, with all the pro­ceeds go­ing to Bas­trop County Child Pro­tec­tive Ser­vices.

Reser­va­tions are re­quired; call 512-321-6283 for tick­ets.

There will be a ben­e­fit Satur­day for Smithville’s Blue Santa and the Veter­ans Me­mo­rial Park at the Smithville Recre­ation Cen­ter.

There will be a live auc­tion with free ad­mis­sion at 2 p.m. From 5 to 7 p.m., a bar­be­cue din­ner will be served for $10 a plate.

Start­ing at 7 p.m., live mu­sic and danc­ing. En­trance fee for that is $15.

At­ten­dees are asked to bring a new, un­wrapped toy for Blue Santa.
