Home in­vader tar­get­ing el­derly

Two re­cent home in­va­sions by a woman in Manor have po­lice warn­ing el­derly res­i­dents to take ex­tra pre­cau­tions as the search for the woman con­tin­ues.

The sus­pect is tar­get­ing el­derly women who live alone, said Manor po­lice Sgt. Ryan Phipps. The vic­tims were over­pow­ered and robbed af­ter they opened their doors to the woman, who ap­pears to be in her 30s, he said.

In the first in­ci­dent last week­end, a woman in her 90s was pushed to the ground af­ter an­swer­ing the door, Phipps said. The sus­pect then en­tered the home, took sev­eral of the vic­tim’s be­long­ings and left, he said. The vic­tim suf­fered mi­nor in­juries. In that case, Phipps said, the woman likely will face an ag­gra­vated rob­bery charge.
