Two digital agencies expand
W2O Group acquires Austin-based VM Foundry; R/GA has opened office here.
Two digital agencies are expanding their operations in Austin to tap into the region’s creative and technical talent pools.
W2O Group, based in San Francisco, said Wednesday it is growing its presence here by acquiring Austin-based VM Foundry for an undisclosed price.
VM Foundry will be combined with W2O’s existing Austin operations to create W2O Digital, which will serve as a learning center for W2O’s clients and staff focused on digital media.
The firm plans to grow from 45 employees in Austin to more than 100 over the next year, said Jim Weiss, CEO of W2O. It’s currently hiring for data analytics, digital design and development positions.
