Report: Watson to be named captain
Golf Digest reported on its website late Tuesday night that the PGA of America plans to select Tom Watson, celebrated worldwide as an eight-time major champion, as its next Ryder Cup captain.
Instead of a standard news conference, PGA of America was reportedly going to introduce Watson on Thursday morning during a segment on the “Today” show on NBC.
Watson served as captain once before, in 1993. Sports Palace, including Crown Prince Phillipe and Princess Mathilde.
In the lighthearted encounter, Clijsters was destined to win but still wowed the crowd with the play that made her famous before injuries added to her retirement at 29.
