Naturalist program to begin new classes
The Lost Pines Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program is planning new training sessions that will begin with an orientation class on Feb. 4 and ending with graduation on May 20.
Evening classes are scheduled for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays two or three times a month. There are also five Saturday morning field trips planned.
The goal of the program is to develop a group of wellinformed volunteers who provide education, outreach and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources in natural areas in their community. The chapter serves primarily Bastrop and Caldwell counties.
A preliminary class schedule and application forms are available at the chapter website at lostpinesmasternaturalist.org. Completed applications will be taken until Jan. 16 at the Bastrop County Extension Office, at 901 Pecan St. in Bastrop.
