People want to find the Alamo Drafthouse most, according to Google.

The search giant revealed a list of the top terms searched for here and the Austin-based cinema was again the most popular term, specifically, “Alamo Drafthouse Austin.”

The cinema was also the top search term in 2011, where it led a list that included “kvue,” “kxan,” “austin community college” and “schlitterbahn.” Notably, none of those other search terms made the list for 2012.

The top search terms were from first to 10th:

Alamo Drafthouse Austin Violet Crown Cinema Austin City Limits Music Festival

Formula 1 US Grand Prix SXSW Longhorn Steakhouse Presidential Polls Austin Craigslist San Antonio Spurs Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union

Google also released a list of most searched-for restaurants on Zagat in Austin for the year. That list was: Congress Restaurant Salt Lick Restaurant Uchi Restaurant Vespaio Restaurant Roaring Fork Restaurant Uchiko Restaurant Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Restaurant Z’Tejas Restaurant Parkside Restaurant Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

The results were part of Google’s “Year-end Zeitgeist,” a collection of 838 top-10 lists covering 55 countries. Worldwide, the top five trending global searches overall were, “Whitney Houston,” “Gangnam Style,” “Hurricane Sandy,” “iPad 3” and “Diablo 3.” In the U.S., top five searches for Whitney Houston and Hurricane Sandy were followed by “Election 2012,” “Hunger Games” and “Jeremy Lin.” More info about the list is on Google’s official blog.
