Workers collect for child care agency

Austin American-Statesman - - MONEY & MARKETS - Continued from B Patrick Terry, Contact Nicole Villalpando at 912-5900.

on the Season for Caring day and give a P. Terry’s burger a try. While that’s good for business, Patrick Terry says, “It’s all about the charity. … We are very fortunate. This town has been very kind to us. We have to give something back.”

Each year, P. Terry’s designates a day each quarter to donate its profits to a different agency.

This spirit of giving has rubbed off on employees. Recently, employees decided to collect money to buy presents for residential child care agency Helping Hand Home, which will deliver the gifts on Christmas Eve.

Eating at P. Terry’s on Saturday is just one of the way readers are giving. Some are holding bake sales, some are cleaning out closets, some are collecting money at work or asking their holiday party guests to give.

More donations, especially monetary donations, are needed. To make a donation online, go to statesman.com/seasonforcaring or find a donation coupon daily in the Statesman.

To help a particular Season for Caring family, find a list of needs and the agency that is helping it with the original Season for Caring stories online at statesman.com/seasonforcaring.

Elias Molino pushes a cart of potatoes at the original P. Terry’s Burger Stand on South Lamar on Saturday, which was the Central Texas chain’s Season for Caring Day. The stores typically get customers that day who eat there because they want to give to charity. The day’s profits went to the Season for Caring drive.
