Austin-area gas prices down another 6 cents
Superstorm Sandy likely slowed Northeast housing starts, but the market remains solid.
Austin-area motorists continue to see the price drop at the gas pump.
The average price for a gallon of gas dropped 6 cents this week to $3.04, according to auto club AAA Texas. Gas prices in Central Texas have declined by 15 cents per gallon in the past four weeks, according to AAA data.
For Texas as a whole, the average price per gallon dropped 6 cents to $3.03. Meanwhile, the national average dropped 7 cents to $3.30 per gallon, according to AAA data. Gas prices have steadily declined due to lower oil prices and because U.S. demand for gasoline continues to be low, industry experts say.
