Shop win­dows lead to fairy-tale worlds

Some­thing mag­i­cal is hap­pen­ing on Sec­ond Street. Stu­dents from St. Ed­ward’s Univer­sity, Texas State Univer­sity and the Univer­sity of Texas have turned store win­dows into fairy-tale worlds.

The Lit­tle Mer­maid with a tail cov­ered in CDs swims through a win­dow of a va­cant store­front. The world of Ju­manji has taken over Lofty Dog.

A red vel­vet hooded cape sur­rounds Lit­tle Red Rid­ing Hood’s face, which has been cov­ered with pages from the sto­ry­book. She wan­ders through the “woods” at Austin Rocks cloth­ing store, while try­ing to es­cape the Big Bad Wolf, a pa­per mask with glow­ing eyes atop a man­nequin, in an­other win­dow.

Peter Pan, Wendy, John and Michael are fly­ing above Lon­don at Luxe Apo­the­tique. At Wee chil­dren’s cloth­ing store, Alice in Won­der­land has her sig­na­ture blue-and-white dress with a deck of cards rain­ing from the ceil­ing.
