Putin reasserts support for Assad

Austin American-Statesman - - FRONT PAGE - Benghazi fallout: U.s.mint tests new metals: U.s.growth levels off:

The Russian president says he opposes military intervention in Syria and chastises the U.S. for its role in toppling Libya’s Gadhafi, saying it led to the U.S. ambassador’s death in Benghazi.

State Department promises to beef up security for the foreign service and urges Congress to provide more money to protect U.S. diplomats. A penny costs more than two cents and a nickel costs more than 11 cents to make and distribute. The quandary is how to make coins more cheaply without sparing our change’s quality and durability, or altering its size and appearance. The nation is getting older and is less likely than before to be married, with women waiting longer to have children, if at all. Immigration is on an upswing but may never return to the peak level it reached in the early 2000s.
