2012 all-centex football team front-runners
The American-Statesman’s 2012 All-Central Texas football team will be published Friday. Until then, we will take a daily look at the leading candidates for the player, newcomer and coach of the year awards. Candidates are being presented in alphabetical order:
PlaYer of THe Year TIM LAPAGLIA ROUSE SENIOR, LINEBACKER
Go figure: 163 tackles, seven sacks, four interceptions
The case for Lapaglia: en route to an appearance in the state semifinals, Rouse received a stellar effort from Lapaglia, who recorded 115 solo tackles. Rouse, which allowed 17.6 points per game this season, got 52 tackles, three sacks and an interception from Lapaglia during the team’s fivegame playoff run.
