Plans to buy land for new school advance

Austin American-Statesman - - COMMUNITY NEWS - — LAURI ZACHRY, ROUND ROCK LEADER

Round Rock school district trustees voted unanimously Dec. 13 to enter into a contract to purchase 100 acres of land for a sixth high school, to be located in northeast Round Rock.

Although no contracts have been signed for the purchase, trustees voted to enter into a contract and conduct appropriate feasibility investigations of 100 acres of property, located at the intersection of A.W. Grimes Boulevard and Kiphen Road, according to information presented during the Dec. 13 board meeting.

If the feasibility investigations demonstrate the property is satisfactory for the district’s use, then board members could vote on a resolution authorizing the purchase of the property.

Funds for this future land purchase could come from leftover bond dollars, according to the information presented.
