PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Austin American-Statesman - - SPORTS -

TYMARSHALL WESTWOOD, SENIOR,W R Go figure: 129 receptions for 1,050 yards, eight TDs, 66 rushes for 263 yards, eight TDs.

The case for Marshall: Because of the graduation of several top players, Westwood opened 2012 the season in need of playmakers, and the school found one in Marshall. The second-year starter’s 129 catches rank third in the state record book for a single season, and he also led Westwood in touchdown runs. With Marshall leading the charge, Westwood reached the third round of the playoffs for the first time.

Also in the mix: Georgetown QB Jake Hubenak, Rouse LB Tim Lapaglia.
