Don’t despair; help near

Austin American-Statesman - - VIEWPOINTS - Renée Potenza Austin

My wish is that no one will feel alone, hopeless and unloved this holiday season. While everyone has problems, sometimes holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s, instead of bringing joy, cause people to reflect on their problems and conclude that no one cares. This is never true. There are loving, caring people everywhere, of all races and beliefs, who want to help. Those with severe financial, medical or other problems may not always connect with those who care, but that does not mean that those caring folks do not exist.

That is why the Statesman’s “Season for Caring” is so great. It is a fine example of making those important connections. Hopefully, some of the needy families’ problems will be solved by people who care, and they will also feel less alone. So, if anyone out there is feeling hopeless, I want you to know: I care!
