Storms caused Dallas/ Fort Worth International Airport to have the highest number of canceled flights in the country, according to flightstats.com.
Five flights from AustinBergstrom International Airport to Dallas were canceled Wednesday morning; at least another 10 arrived more than an hour late by early Wednesday evening.
Sixteen Austin-to-Chicago flights arrived more than an hour late; five flights to the nation’s capital were delayed leaving Austin and arrived more than three hours late; and five New York-bound flights were delayed more than 14 hours.
By early evening, a handful of arriving flights were behind schedule, including a flight from Lubbock scheduled to arrive at 4:30 p.m.that was several hours late and five flights from Atlanta that arrived more than an hour late.
Austin aviation officials continue to urge passengers to check the status of flights before leaving for the airport.
