Slaugh­ter­house, pair face charges

A Dal­las slaugh­ter­house and two of­fi­cials have been in­dicted af­ter be­ing ac­cused of flush­ing pig’s blood into a creek feed­ing into the Trin­ity River.

The grand jury re­turned 18 in­dict­ments against Columbia Pack­ing and two of­fi­cials, Joseph Carl On­drusek and Donny Rus­sell On­drusek.

Pros­e­cu­tors say in­ves­ti­ga­tors from sev­eral agen­cies saw waste from pig pro­cess­ing dumped into Cedar Creek. Columbia of­fi­cials said the plant spilled con­tam­i­nants, but said it was by ac­ci­dent.
