2012 ALL-CENTRAL TEXAS FOOTBALL TEAM GRIMM’S FAIRY TALE IS REAL
Despite a late start and two injuries in playoffs, QB guided Cedar Park to new heights.
CEDAR PARK — Earlier this week while shopping at Academy for this grandfather’s Christmas gift, Nate Grimm was approached by a stranger.
Tipped off by Grimm’s bleached-blond Mohawk — the favored hairstyle of many Cedar Park football players — the man asked Grimm if he went to the high school.
Grimm said yes and was promptly congratulated for the Timberwolves’ 17-7 victory over Lancaster last week in the Class 4A, Division II championship game. The two parted ways and Grimm was left to continue looking at golf balls.
“It was really cool. I wasn’t used to it at all,” Grimm said. “It was just a cool experience.”
A junior quarterback, Grimm threw 23 touchdown passes this season, and he led Cedar Park with his 824 rushing yards. For his efforts, Grimm has been named to the American-Statesman’s 2012 All-Central Texas football team as the newcomer of the year.
