Airstrike kills 2 al-qaida sus­pects

An airstrike killed two sus­pected al-Qaida mil­i­tants in Ye­men on Fri­day while tribes­men with links to the group were be­lieved to be be­hind an at­tack on an oil pipe­line else­where in the coun­try, Ye­meni se­cu­rity of­fi­cials said. Of­fi­cials and res­i­dents sus­pect that the strike in the south­east­ern province of Hadra­mawt was car­ried out by a U.S. drone. Also Fri­day, al-Qaida linked tribes­men were be­lieved

The di­rec­tor of U.N. hu­man­i­tar­ian op­er­a­tions says crises driven by drought, floods and con­flicts are es­ca­lat­ing ev­ery year and there isn’t enough money to help more than 50 mil­lion peo­ple from Syria to Africa’s parched Sa­hel re­gion who need help. John Ging said that for thou­sands of needy peo­ple the re­sult is more suf­fer­ing, wors­en­ing mal­nu­tri­tion and loss of life.
