Ben­itez in hospi­tal af­ter pos­si­ble stroke

Re­tired Puerto Ri­can box­ing great Wil­fred Ben­itez has been hos­pi­tal­ized in af­ter wor­ried fam­ily mem­bers thought that he might have suf­fered a stroke.

Yvonne Ben­itez says that her 54-year-old brother, who she says is do­ing well, will re­main un­der ob­ser­va­tion for 72 hours. Ben­itez (53-81, 31 KOs) is the youngest fighter to win a world ti­tle, at 17 years old, but he strug­gled with trau­matic brain in­juries later in life. He cur­rently uses a wheel­chair.
