Midsize

Austin American-Statesman - - D STATESMAN CARS -

1.) Chrysler 300 SRT8 - The SRT8 version of this midsize sedan is what puts the 300 at the top of the list for me. The looks of the 300 are classic. The interior space is ideal for families. It has all the interior amenities to keep driver and passengers comfortable. But the 6.4-liter V-8 Hemi engine makes this oh-so-much fun to drive.

2.) Kia Optima Turbo - The Korean carmaker has had a good couple of years. They’ve caught up to the dominating brands within the midsize segment (Camry, Accord, Altima). One of the reasons the Optima is so nice is the versatility offered. First, the looks are sharp and the interior has nice quality materials inside. Second, the Optima is offered in a hybrid and turbo version. The Turbo for me, would be the choice in the Optima. The 2.0-liter engine cre- ates 274 horsepower and really stands out in this segment.

3.) Toyota Camry - What’s not to like about the reliable Camry, especially after it was redesigned with a new exterior and interior and with better fuel economy and a lower price? Camry makes this list for doing just enough to update their midsize stalwart for a more up-to-date look and improved performance.
