Sisters revel as Pflugerville goes to state
Chasing a state title, Starr Omozee follows in older sibling’s footsteps.
— After Starr Omozee and her Pflugerville girls basketball teammates beat Spring Dekaney on Saturday to qualify for this week’s UIL state tournament, the Pflugerville junior called her older sister, Diana.
After all, who could better understand the elation that Omozee felt more than her sibling who helped the Panthers reach the 2013 state tournament?
“I was super excited, telling Diana, ‘We made it to state! We made it to state!’” Omozee said before a recent practice at Pflugerville High, “but she calmed me down quick. She let me know that we have two more games — one to make it to the final and one to win it all.”
