Al­pha­bet’s Jig­saw R&D chief to talk at SXSW

Yas­min Green among new clus­ter of speak­ers an­nounced Thurs­day.

In one of its last big pushes be­fore South by South­west starts March 10, the con­fer­ence has an­nounced its fi­nal set of key­note speak­ers and an­other clus­ter of fea­tured speak­ers across tech, film, mu­sic and the in­creas­ingly pop­u­lar area of “en­ter­tain­ment in­flu­encers.”

Yas­min Green, di­rec­tor of re­search and de­vel­op­ment at Al­pha­bet’s Jig­saw in­cu­ba­tor (for­merly known as Google Ideas), will be one of SXSW’s key­note speak­ers. Green fo­cuses on build­ing “tech­nol­ogy to tackle some of the tough­est global se­cu­rity chal­lenges fac­ing the world to­day — from thwart­ing on­line cen­sor­ship to mit­i­gat­ing the threats from digital at­tacks to coun­ter­ing vi­o­lent ex­trem­ism to pro­tect­ing peo­ple from on­line ha­rass-


Al­pha­bet’s Yas­min Green will speak at SXSW on March 14.
