Jean-Charles’ dou­ble-dou­ble lifts Austin

The Austin Spurs de­feated the Delaware 87ers 102-93 at the AT&T Cen­ter in San An­to­nio on Thurs­day night.

Or­lando John­son scored 23 points, and Charles Gar­cia added 22 to lead the Spurs’ at­tack. John­son added five re­bounds and five as­sists. Gar­cia was one re­bound short of a dou­ble-dou­ble.

Livio Jean-Charles fin­ished with a dou­ble-dou­ble for Austin, his third this year, scor­ing 16 points to go with a game-high 17 re­bounds.

Jean-Charles also put in a spec­tac­u­lar de­fen­sive ef­fort as he recorded seven blocks, the most by any Spurs player this sea­son.

Austin (19-21) dom­i­nated the glass, out­re­bound­ing Delaware 54-39.

The 87ers (22-19) were led by Aaron Harrison, who scored 23 points. Two of his teammates had dou­ble-dou­bles.

Roscoe Smith had 15 points and 10 re­bounds, and Car- los Lopez had 19 points and 11 re­bounds.

Austin led by just two after the first quar­ter but built a 20-point lead by half­time. A 16-3 run to start the se­cond quar­ter helped the Spurs outscore Delaware 33-15 in the pe­riod.

The 87ers at­tempted to come back in the fi­nal quar­ter, sparked by a 12-0 run, but it wasn’t enough.
