KXAN expanding its noon news, ‘Studio 512’
Austin NBC affiliate KXAN is shaking up its daytime lineup starting next week.
“Studio 512,” the station’s lifestyle show, will move to 11 a.m. and expand from 30 minutes to an hour. It currently airs at 12:30 p.m.
Joe Barlow, entertainment reporter for The CW Austin, will join “Studio 512” host Amanda Tatom on the expanded program, “adding a fun new perspective and local entertainment reports to the show’s focus on local food, style, fitness and family.”
With “Studio 512” moving to an earlier time slot, KXAN’s noon newscast will expand to a full hour, running from noon to 1 p.m.
The newscast was initially an hour long when it first launched, but was trimmed back when “Studio 512” debuted in 2014.
