Each car features free Wi-Fi, GPS and satellite radio, among other amenities.
In Austin, daily rental rates generally are between $60 and $70.
Audi and Silvercar said they plan to continue to innovate in the months and years ahead.
“The intersection of transportation and technology, influenced by changing demographics and innovative consumer models has created an exciting new world of mobility,” Silvercar CEO Luke Schneider said. “We are thrilled to become part of Audi, to enhance its leadership in this space.”
Silvercar isn’t the only company teaming up with a German automaker to offer Austinites high-end vehicles for rent.
Car2Go, which offers by-the-minute and daily rentals, partnered with Mercedes-Benz in January to offer customers access to Mercedes-Benz’s four-door CLA coupe and five-door GLA SUV.
Both Car2Go and Mercedes-Benz are subsidiaries of Germany’s Daimler AG.
Car2Go had been using smaller Smart cars in Austin, but by year’s end they will, for the most part, be phased out in favor of the two Mercedes-Benz models, the company said.
Austin-based Silvercar has an airport rental fleet consisting entirely of Audi A4 sedans.
