Namely, a fast-growing New York-based software company, is expanding its Austin team, with a move to larger offices and plans to add 30 workers in Central Texas.

Founded in 2012, Namely sells human resources software that helps midsize companies streamline their HR processes. The platform includes performance reviews, payroll, benefits, time management and approvals.

The company, which has 350 employees, opened an Austin office in late 2015 as part of a $30 million investment. Namely has raised a total of $157.8 million since launching.

Namely chose Austin for expansion because of its large base of innovative midsized companies, including tech companies, creative industries such as digital media and advertising, and nonprofits, company executives said.

“I’m so proud of our Austin team and the tremendous growth we’ve seen over the past year,” said Matt Straz, Namely founder and CEO.

“Austin is home to many exciting mission-driven companies, and we’re proud to give them access to the HR technology that helps them grow and attract great people in a competitive market,” Straz said.

The company is moving from offices on North Lamar to downtown space at 400 W. 15th St., near the Texas Capitol. It currently has 20 employees here and plans to reach 50 over the next year.
