UT Target store debuts.

The wait is over, Target shoppers.

The discount chain’s new small-scale store near the University of Texas opened its doors over the weekend.

The store, which was initially set to make its debut in July, is located in the Dobie Twenty21 development at 2021 Guadalupe St.

The UT Target has fewer items than a traditional Target store because of its reduced square footage.

It sells an assortment of groceries, dorm and apartment essentials, technology products and accessories, men’s and women’s clothing, and health and beauty items.

Parking for customers is available in the garage next to the Dobie Twenty21 building.

The UT Target store employs about 60 workers and is the retailer’s 16th location in the Austin area.

Employees greet customers during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and soft opening at the UT campus Target on Saturday.

Customers use a line of self checkout kiosks at the new UT campus Target on Saturday.
