Job skills train­ing of­fered to vets

DraftKings Inc. will ex­pand its Tech for He­roes ini­tia­tive to Austin, bring­ing free high-tech job skills train­ing to cur­rent and re­turn­ing vet­er­ans and mil­i­tary spouses. The eight-week course be­gins Oct. 9, and regis­tra­tion is re­quired by Oct. 8.

DraftKings’ em­ploy­ees will work with vet­er­ans to grow their un­der­stand­ing of em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties at high-tech com­pa­nies and to fur­ther sup­port the vet­eran grad­u­ates pur­su­ing ca­reers in tech. Ef­forts in­clude ré­sumé de­vel­op­ment, ca­reer roadmap­ping and skills trans­la­tion, as well as peer to peer net­work­ing.
