AN­NUAL BLACK FRET GALA HELPS LO­CAL MU­SI­CIANS

Austin non­profit Black Fret gave out $220,000 at its sold-out, third-an­nual Black Ball gala at The Para­mount Theatre. Its 10 ma­jor grant re­cip­i­ents, who each re­ceived $17,000, were: Bee Caves, Car­son McHone, Dan Dyer, Nakia, Ray Prim, Suzanna Chof­fel, Swim­ming With Bears, The Peter­son Broth­ers, Walker Lukens, and Wendy Colonna. Ten other artists re­ceived grants of $5,000. Pre­sen­ta­tions and mu­si­cal per­for­mances made for a mem­o­rable evening.
