Lo­gan Ralph of El Paso wrote in to cor­rect us on the moun­tain ranges vis­i­ble from White Sands (“Shift­ing Sands,” Novem­ber 2016). The Tres Her­manos lie to the south­east, and the Jar­illa Moun­tains sit to the south­south­east.

In “Eat Up” (Oc­to­ber 2016), we wrote that hon­ey­bees would “har­vest what­ever pollen they can find” that month to top off their honey re­serves for the win­ter. As reader Liane Lewis pointed out, bees make honey out of nec­tar, not pollen.
