Veteran Webb stays, agrees to 3-year deal

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome maintained that the team hadn’t closed the door on safety Lardarius Webb even after releasing him following the free-agent signing of Tony Jefferson.

With the Ravens still looking to add depth to their defensive backfield and Webb interested in prolonging his career in Baltimore, the two sides found common ground Saturday on a reunion. Webb, 31, agreed to a three-year contract with a maximum value of $10.5 million to return to the Ravens.

The deal comes less than a month after the Ravens released Webb to create $5.5 million of salary cap space. The veteran garnered interest on the free-agent market, but he didn’t find any deals to his liking and
