Hop­kins re­bounds, rips Diplo­mats, 45-7

Bowie State coasts to sixth straight tri­umph

Host Johns Hop­kins bounced back from its first reg­u­lar sea­son loss in nearly five years with a 45-7 vic­tory over Franklin & Marshall on Satur­day af­ter­noon.

David Tam­maro com­pleted 32 of 45 for 418 yards and five touch­down passes for the Blue Jays (5-1, 4-1 Cen­ten­nial Con­fer­ence). The Diplo­mats (5-1, 4-1) were held to one scor­ing drive in the sec­ond quar­ter.

BOWIE STATE 41, CHOWAN 10: Amir Hall (26-for-35, 346 yards) threw three touch­down passes and the host Bull­dogs (6-0, 3-0 Cen­tral In­ter­col­le­giate Athletic Con­fer­ence) ended a two-game win­ning streak by the Hawks (2-4, 2-1).

SAL­IS­BURY 17, CHRISTO­PHER NEW­PORT 7: The host Sea Gulls (4-1, 4-0 New Jersey Athletic Con­fer­ence) took a 17-0 lead and beat the Cap­tains (4-2, 3-2).

Alex Po­tocko made a 34-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead with 7:01 left in the first quar­ter. Sal­is­bury got two rush­ing touch­downs in the third quar­ter from Dan­dre Den­nis and Brady Cur­ley.

WES­LEY 27, FROST­BURG STATE 24, OT: Nick Bruhn kicked the ty­ing and win­ning field goals to lift the vis­it­ing Wolver­ines (4-1, 4-0 NJAC) over the Bob­cats (4-1, 3-1).

DICK­IN­SON 13, MCDANIEL 10: Chris Long caught an 11-yard touch­down pass from Robert Geiss with 12:32 left in the game to put the host Red Devils (2-4, 2-3 Cen­ten­nial Con­fer­ence) up for good.

Dick­in­son put to­gether an eight­play, 65-yard drive to win. The Green Ter­ror (3-3, 2-3) were held to a sea­son-low in points.
