Dodgers: OF Yasiel Puig went on revocable trade waivers, Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal tweeted. Though a team is likely to put in a claim, the Dodgers would be more likely to trade him in the offseason, Rosenthal said. Puig has been in Triple A since the beginning of August.
Royals: Raul Mondesi’s threerun triple highlighted an eightrun sixth as the Royals beat the Red Sox 10-4. They have won 17 of 21. The bullpen threw 42⁄ innings of two-hit shutout ball. David Ortiz hit his 534th homer, tying Jimmie Foxx for 18th on the all-time list.
Rangers: Derek Holland allowed one run over six innings in his second start off the DL, new LF Carlos Gomez made two highlight-reel catches and the AL-best Rangers beat the Indians 2-1, taking three of four in the series between division leaders.
Rockies: Nolan Arenado went 4-for-4, including his 35th home run and a triple, and drove in three runs in a 5-3 win over the Nationals. Arenado and David Dahl hit back-to-back home runs in the third off rookie Lucas Giolito. Bryce Harper, Trea Turner and Wilson Ramos homered for the Nats, who have lost six of eight.
Giants: Joe Panik homered twice and matched his career high of four RBIs to back Madison Bumgarner in a 13-3 rout of the Braves. Denard Span and Eduardo Nunez also homered and Jarrett Parker drove in three runs for the Giants, who won a series for only the second time since the All-Star break.
Orioles: Mark Trumbo lined his MLB-leading 40th home run as the Orioles averted a sweep, blanking the Yankees 5-0. The Orioles halted a three-game skid and ended the Yanks’ win streak at four. Kevin Gausman struck out nine and walked none in seven innings to win after going 0-16 in his previous 25 road starts.
Phillies: A.J. Ellis’ two-run double broke a tie in his Phillies debut, leading to a 5-1 victory over the Mets. The Mets lost SS Asdrubal Cabrera in the first with a sore left knee.
