Terps in top 10 for five-star PG Duval
The Maryland men’s basketball team is still in the hunt for its top-rated recruiting target in the Class of 2017. Five-star point guard Trevon Duval, a consensus top 10 player in the nation, announced his top 10 on Twitter on Monday night, and joining the Terps are California, Oregon, Southern California, Kansas, Villanova, UCLA, Arizona, Seton Hall and St. John’s. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect recently was named Most Valuable Player of the Under Armour Elite 24, a recruiting showcase hosted in New York by the Baltimore-based company. MORE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Coppin State named former Mount St. Mary’s assistant Keith Brown to the same position. WOMEN’S SOCCER: Maryland (2-1-1) scored twice in the first 12 minutes to earn a 3-1 victory over host Penn (0-1) on Sunday night. … Salisbury was picked to finish second behind Christopher Newport in the Capital Athletic Conference preseason coaches’ poll.
