I-695 exit ramp to Harford Road being replaced
The exit ramp from the Interstate 695 inner loop to northbound Harford Road will be closed Thursday night, and traffic will be rerouted onto a widened ramp in time for the Friday morning rush hour, weather permitting, the State Highway Administration said Tuesday. The switch, expected to take place about 10 p.m. Thursday, is intended to make driving less congested and safer by eliminating a short merging area at the end of the current cloverleaf loop exit ramp, the SHA said. The current ramp will be closed and eventually taken down. A traffic light at the end of the new ramp will allow motorists traveling eastbound on the Beltway to go either north or south on Harford Road from the same exit. It’s part of a $32 million Baltimore Beltway widening project.
