Man charged in 2015 shoot­ing in Wood­lawn

A 32-year-old man has been charged in an at­tempted car­jack­ing in which a woman was shot in Wood­lawn last year, Baltimore County po­lice said Wed­nes­day. Jan­son Phillip Wil­liams of Wood­lawn is charged with at­tempted first-de­gree mur­der, first-de­gree as­sault and a firearms vi­o­la­tion, court records show. He is be­ing held with­out bail at the Baltimore County De­ten­tion Cen­ter. Po­lice said of­fi­cers went to the 6000 block of Town­brook Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. Aug. 5, 2015, and found an 18-year-old woman who had been shot. The woman, whose name was not re­leased, was sit­ting in her car out­side her apart­ment when two peo­ple ap­proached her, telling her to turn off her car and give them her keys. The woman put the car in re­verse and tried to drive off, po­lice said. She was shot once, ac­cord­ing to po­lice. Po­lice have not found the other sus­pect. Wil­liams does not have an at­tor­ney listed in court records for the case.
