Surveillance is about safety

Baltimore Sun - - FROM PAGE ONE - Arthur Shefrin, Pikesville

I respectfully disagree with the American Civil Liberties Union and that organization’s distrust of city air surveillance (“Donor to Baltimore police surveillance program says privacy debate ‘ healthy,’” Aug. 30).

Do they think the planes are taking pictures of naked men or women? The objective is to give law enforcement an opportunity to do their job to protect the public. Locating those areas where crime is prevalent makes the good people who live and work there a bit safer.
