Baltimore Sun - - NATION - —Sarah Gantz

After receiving an unsolicited proposal to purchase and redevelop property at 111 S. Hanover St., the Baltimore Development Corp. is seeking proposals from any other interested buyers and developers.

The city-owned property is a 23,612square-foot parcel along Pratt Street between Charles and Hanover streets, in front of the Bank of America building. The property is primarily occupied by a fountain on the corner at Charles Street. The Bank of America building at 100 S. Charles St. was purchased last year by Carlyle Development Group of New York and renamed Pratt Center.

The firm said then it planned to spend $20 million to renovate the building, possibly including bumping its footprint out toward Pratt Street to add 25,000 square feet of street-level retail.

Proposals are due by 4 p.m. Oct. 1.
