Owings Mills build­ing col­lapse in­jures work­ers

Two con­struc­tion work­ers were in­jured Fri­day when a house in Owings Mills col­lapsed, Bal­ti­more County fire of­fi­cials say. Emer­gency crews were called to the home, which was be­ing ren­o­vated, in the 100 block of Oak­mere Road about 3:50 p.m., said Lt. Paul Mas­sarelli, a spokesman for the de­part­ment. The men were in the beams of the roof when the build­ing col­lapsed, Mas­sarelli said. They be­came pinned and were freed by emer­gency work­ers. They were flown to Mary­land Shock Trauma Cen­ter, Mas­sarelli said. He did not know their con­di­tions. The Mary­land Oc­cu­pa­tional Safety and Health pro­gram will in­ves­ti­gate the col­lapse, he said.
