Ravens name Md. native new general counsel
The Ravens have hired a new general counsel — a 31-year-old with Maryland roots who counseled NFL team executives as a member of the league’s management council.
Brandon Etheridge becomes the team’s first general counsel since 1999. The team decided to restore the in-house position handling its legal work.
Etheridge, who played football at Yale University, was born in Baltimore. He was raised in Prince George’s and Howard counties and attended the McDonogh School during grades four through 12.
Working for the management council, Etheridge advised team officials on the collective bargaining agreement, player contracts, discipline and health care, the Ravens said. He also represented teams in arbitration proceedings and advised on employment-related legal issues.
