Ch­e­sa­peake Bay pol­lu­tion num­bers im­prove

The amount of pol­lu­tion that washed into the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay dropped dra­mat­i­cally in 2015, a trend ad­vo­cates said is promis­ing but may also have more to do with the weather than with bay cleanup ef­forts. From 2014 to 2015, the amount of ni­tro­gen that reached the bay fell by 25 per­cent, while phos­pho­rus loads dropped by 44 per­cent, ac­cord­ing to the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay Pro­gram.

Man charged in Sept. 1 shoot­ing

Po­lice on Tues­day ar­rested Ron­ald Wil­son, 36, of the 3800 block of Pen­hurst Ave., who is charged with at­tempted first-de­gree mur­der in the Sept. 1 shoot­ing of a 25-year-old man in the 4900 block of Reis­ter­stown Road. Wil­son was ar­rested with­out in­ci­dent about 6 a.m. Tues­day, po­lice said.
