City residents invited to comment on DOJ report
Residents are invited to offer comments on the U.S. Department of Justice’s investigation of the Baltimore Police Department at a session Monday. City Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young and Justice Department officials will host a meeting from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 2812 Reisterstown Road in Northwest Baltimore. The community will have the chance to discuss the Justice Department’s highly critical report of city police, released in August, that documented years of unconstitutional and discriminatory policing. Federal and city officials are negotiating reforms of the department under a consent decree expected by November. The meeting will be recorded by Baltimore’s public access channel.
