Ticket plans are announced for possible postseason dates
With six games remaining in the regular season and a 11⁄ game cushion above the chasing Detroit Tigers for the final American League wild-card spot, the Orioles outlined ticket plans for the postseason.
As was the case in 2014, fans who place a deposit on a full- or partial-season ticket package for the 2017 season are guaranteed a corresponding ticket to one playoff game in each round, with the possible wild-card game next Tuesday reserved for the higher commitments.
Fans who make a deposit of at least $500 per seat on a 29-game ticket package or $1,000 per seat for an 81-game package are guaranteed a chance to buy tickets to at least one game in each playoff round, from the wild-card game to the World Series.
For those who place a minimum deposit of $250 per seat on a 13-game plan, the club will guarantee the chance to buy a ticket to one game in every round beginning with the American League Division Series.
Deposits can be made at www.orioles.com/deposits.
Those who aren’t ready to tie their playoff tickets to a commitment next year can buy tickets beginning Thursday at noon by visiting www.orioles.com/postseason. The team says those tickets are “expected to be extremely limited, and tickets — which will be primarily scattered single seats, limited view seating, and standing room only — will sell out quickly.”
With the wild-card route the only one left for the Orioles to get back into the playoffs, they could host the one-game playoff on Tuesday, Oct. 4. If they advance, they’d host Game 3 of the ALDS on Sunday, Oct. 9, likely a night game since the Ravens host the Washington Redskins at 1 p.m. that Sunday and the two stadiums share parking. Game 4, if necessary, would be the following day.
