Ca­tonsville de­feats No. 11 Du­laney in vol­ley­ball

In her 11 years as Ca­tonsville’s vol­ley­ball coach, Amanda Kauf­man’s Comets had never beaten Du­laney. That changed Tues­day night, when the host Comets (5-1) de­feated the No. 11 Lions, 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.

“I am so proud of the girls. I couldn’t be more ex­cited and the six se­niors on the team they de­serve it more than any­one else,” Kauf­man said. “They have worked hard.”

Se­nior Mi­tra Har­ri­son led the at­tack with 13 kills, and se­niors Ka­teri Wess (three aces) and Am­ber Lally (three aces) and ju­nior Ni­cole Beautz (two aces) led ag­gres­sive serv­ing and pass­ing games that al­lowed se­nior set­ter Cather­ine Ott to con­trol the of­fense.

Du­laney (3-2) was led by the hit­ting of MyKayla Milch­ling (11 kills) and Kayla An­der­son (five kills).

NO. 6 CEN­TEN­NIAL D. NO. 2 ARUN­DEL, 3-0: The host Ea­gles (4-2) up­set the Wild­cats (5-1). Cen­ten­nial won, 28-26, 25-20, 25-22. “Cen­ten­nial played a cleaner match, [made fewer mis­takes] and had some nice runs,” Arun­del coach Ash­ley Yus­cav­age said.

Boys soc­cer

NO. 10 C. MIL­TON WRIGHT 5, PAT­TER­SON MILL 1: Ryan Belfiore scored twice to lead the host Mus­tangs (5-1-1) past the Huskies (3-5).

Girls soc­cer

SEV­ERN 2, ROLAND PARK 0: Cam­ryn Levin and Eileen Do­herty scored to lead the host Ad­mi­rals (5-4-1, 4-0-1 In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion of Mary­land B Con­fer­ence) past the Reds (4-4, 4-1).

Field hockey

NO. 3 ARCH­BISHOP SPALD­ING 6, SEV­ERN 0: Mar­got Lawn had a hat trick and the host Cava­liers (9-2) rolled past the Ad­mi­rals (2-5).

NO. 9 GAR­RI­SON FOR­EST 4, ROLAND PARK 0: The Griz­zlies (6-3, 4-2 IAAM A Con­fer­ence) dom­i­nated the host Reds (3-5-1, 0-4-1).

Ju­nior for­ward Amanda Fru­man had two goals, and Sa­man­tha Fiedler and Ni­cole Le­gar each added one.

NOTRE DAME PREP 1, ST. MARY’S 0: Emily Cooper scored the game-win­ner to lead the host Blaz­ers (7-1, 4-0 IAAM A Con­fer­ence) past the Saints (2-3-1, 1-3-1).

GLENELG COUN­TRY 2, ST. PAUL’S 1: The Dragons (3-2, 1-2 IAAM B Con­fer­ence) took a 2-0 lead in the first half and held off the host Ga­tors (2-4, 1-2).

OAK­LAND MILLS 11, GLEN BURNIE 0: Lizzie Yu made two saves in her first shutout of the sea­son as the host Scor­pi­ons (2-3) beat the Go­phers (0-6).
